NOTE: Generally, we take great strides in not taking in any instrument that rates less than excellent. All instruments are in 100% ready to play condition. We do not adjust the action or intonate any guitars prior to shipping. Some instruments may need minor set-up from your local luthier or guitar tech to suit your personal playing style. Replacement strings may also be needed on used instruments.

We make every effort to test and inspect instruments prior to shipping. Please know that the 3-way toggle switches on many Danelectros have a trendency to be slightly noisy when changing positions. Also, some Danelectro models, especially the 59-DC have an issue with the decorative side banding tape lifting or bubbling. Many of these guitars were delivered directly from the factory this way. This is caused by tape shrinkage due to changes in temperature and/or humidity and is strictly an aesthetic issue which in no way affects the sound or playability of the instrument. We do not warranty any instrument with loose, raised or bubbled binding tape.

In the event your guitar has raised or bubbled side tape, try taking a blow dryer and heating the tape slightly being careful not to overheat and melt the tape. With the tape warm, hold it down tightly with your fingers until cool. If there is enough glue on the tape, it may possibly re-adhere, although this may only be a temporary fix. If this procedure is not successful, try lifting up the tape and applying a very thin layer of adhesive to the back of the tape. Hold down tightly with fingers until bonded. Do not use expandable type glues as this may cause bumps under the tape. A strong hobby glue usually works best. If you feel the need to replace the side banding tape on your guitar CLICK HERE.

Please understand that you may not return any instrument for raised or bubbled binding tape.
